The first chapel on this site was built in 1858 by the Brothers of St. Vincent de Paul. The chapel was enlarged in 1886, but destroyed in 1969, as for the orphanage, it was replaced by the "Foyer Le Prévost".The new church was erected between 1963 and 1965, according to the plans of the architects Henri Colboc and Jean Dionis du Séjour. It is built on old quarries and rests on twenty-six masonary wells. It was consecrated by Bishop Brot on September 19, 1965.
G6This instrument of 13 stops was installed by Danion-Gonzalez in 1973, replacing a smaller model of the same builder with 8 stops, which was installed during the construction of this church.Enlarged in 2018 by Bernard Dargassies and thr Allen company, it became the first hybrid organ of Paris. The parish asked for the instrument to be more present and more powerful. Finally, it was decided to keep the instrument as such, if not to put the Trumpet 8 of the GO in the Swell, replacing the Cymbal and especially to install a Montre 8 to the GO in beautiful tin, in a sober buffet, fitting perfectly with the building. The stop registers were electrified, as a combinator was demanded. The transmission of notes from the manuals and pedals remained mechanical with compensators, so as to maintain a regular sinking, whatever the weather conditions. Thus, it guarantees a perfect synchronization of the newly installed contacts, making the 19 new digital stops talk. Many thanks to Mr Bernard Dargassies for this information.
